Casablanca Launches a New Generation of Public Toilets, Free and Accessible to All After Pilot Phase Ensuring Quality Standards

This initiative is one of the innovative projects reflecting the Commune’s ambition to make Morocco’s economic capital a clean, sustainable city that offers high-quality public services, in line with its metropolitan standing.

The project represents a major step forward in the management of communal facilities open to the general public, through:
– high standards of cleanliness, maintenance and modern equipment;

– rigorous protocols for continuous hygiene and disinfection;

– smart and connected management ensuring service continuity and durability;

– strategic deployment across major squares, gardens, train stations and high-traffic areas.

Designed according to the best international standards of quality and cleanliness, these facilities include separate sections for men and women, specific arrangements for persons with reduced mobility, ventilation and fire detection systems, outdoor video surveillance, and suitable lighting for comfort and safety.

The public toilets will be open:
– from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during regular periods.

– from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. during the summer.

To guarantee continuous and high-quality service, specialized staff will be responsible for maintenance and disinfection, while an innovative management model will integrate advertising spaces to ensure the sustainability of the system.

After undergoing a comprehensive pilot phase before deployment in several strategic areas, this project embodies the commitment of the Commune of Casablanca to provide a living environment worthy of its citizens and visitors.

It also reflects the city’s vision for free, modern and sustainable urban services, reaffirming its ambition to position itself as an innovative, inclusive and environmentally respectful metropolis.
