Back-to-School 2025-2026: Christophe Lecourtier inaugurates the renovated Berchet School in Tangier

In a context of continuous growth in student numbers, the reopening of the school reflects the ambition of the French educational network in Tangier. The school now hosts 1,223 pupils, an increase of 4% this year, and is relying on new facilities, additional classrooms, and an expanded range of services to meet the rising expectations of families.

Beyond the example of Tangier, the French education network in Morocco confirms its dynamism. With 44 accredited institutions and nearly 49,000 students, it stands as one of the largest in the world. Supported by strong educational cooperation between Rabat and Paris, this system contributes to training a youth open to the international sphere and driven by ambition.

Academic results illustrate this level of excellence: in 2024, the French baccalaureate in Morocco recorded a success rate of 99.2%, with 85% earning honors. This achievement has been made possible thanks to the commitment of nearly 3,500 teachers, regularly trained to ensure pedagogical innovation and quality.

The presence of Christophe Lecourtier in Tangier was not merely symbolic. It also conveyed a message of confidence and support to the educational and administrative teams mobilized on a daily basis. In praising their dedication, the Ambassador recalled the importance of French education in strengthening cultural and human ties between France and Morocco.

Thus, the 2025-2026 school year opens in Tangier under the sign of renewal, expansion, and an ever-strengthening educational partnership.
