Morocco Receives First Delivery of Yutong Buses Ahead of AFCON 2025

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, Yutong described the delivery as “a major milestone in the field of sustainable transport,” while thanking Moroccan authorities for their trust. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to provide “flawless service,” presenting itself as “the most reliable partner” of the Kingdom.

The handover ceremony took place at Yutong’s plant in China’s Henan province, in the presence of Moroccan representatives, company executives, and local media. The festive event highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership between the two sides.

This acquisition is part of Morocco’s intensive preparations for AFCON 2025, which also include the renovation and construction of new stadiums, upgrades to airport and transport infrastructure, and broader efforts tied to the country’s co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.

It is worth recalling that last February, Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour announced at the Green Impact Summit on sustainable mobility that Morocco planned to acquire around 7,000 new buses by 2030, including some electric models, as part of a national strategy for a more sustainable transport system.
