A staunch defender of the written press and the media at large, Dr. Talal advocated for pluralism in information and for the development of community-based journalism. He firmly believed that new technologies should not sideline national newspapers but instead revitalize and modernize them to better serve public opinion.
His contribution to the history of media in Morocco remains undeniable. His landmark work, “Communication in the Arab World: Questions and Approaches”, continues to be a reference point for researchers and media professionals alike.
Dr. Talal also called for the revival of partisan press, emphasizing its essential role in Morocco’s media landscape. He underlined the need for the involvement of all stakeholders—government, political parties, and civil society—in shaping the country’s public audiovisual sector.
