International Academy of Scientific Francophonie Holds Board Meeting in Rabat

Chaired by André Azoulay, Advisor to His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Directors, this meeting was an opportunity to review the main actions previously carried out and to present the projects planned for the upcoming months.

On this occasion, Azoulay expressed pride in seeing Morocco host the second session of the AIFS Board of Directors, “a prestigious institution serving science and the French-speaking world.”

This meeting also seeks to reaffirm the openness of the Kingdom, with influence extending cross-borders, as evidenced by this gathering of the Francophone scientific community in Rabat, he told MAP.

For his part, University Agency of Francophonie (AUF) Rector Slim Khalbous emphasized that the Board of Directors is the Academy’s highest body, which decides on the broad guidelines and strategic choices in terms of Francophone scientific publishing and governance, while working to promote scientific studies in the French-speaking world.

This body, he added in a similar statement, brings together some 20 high-level international organizations from around 15 countries that are active in the fields of science, knowledge, and culture, offering a “wonderful diversity of thought.”

The AIFS aims to respond to several expectations voiced by young people, teachers, and researchers, as well as decision-makers, international donors, and the educational and academic ecosystem.

It strives to work with all stakeholders in the Francophone scientific community to ease constraints and render the Francophone world appealing and stimulating, as well as to offer new prospects for development to young people and scientists.
