Morocco, ‘Major Global Player in Maritime Economy’ Under HM the King’s ‘Strategic Vision’ – French Geopolitician

“What we can say today is that Morocco is becoming a major global player in the maritime economy and that Casablanca is establishing itself as the economic, commercial, and financial hub of the future for the African continent,” Chauprade affirmed, commenting in a statement to MAP on the projects inaugurated by the Sovereign on Thursday in Casablanca as part of the restructuring and development of the Casablanca Port Complex.

He believes that these projects are part of a large-scale port development policy, noting that they represent a further step in the Kingdom’s dynamic transformation and development.

For the analyst, the development of a fishing port, the construction of a new shipyard, the development of a cruise terminal, and the construction of an administrative complex bringing together all the stakeholders of the port of Casablanca are all large-scale projects that illustrate the port’s momentum in the Kingdom, under the impetus of His Majesty the King.

“Thanks to a strategic vision driven by His Majesty the King, Morocco’s ports are no longer mere logistics infrastructures, but truly integrated hubs that contribute to nearly all of the country’s foreign trade,” he said.

Chauprade noted that this momentum is part of “a context of accelerated economic growth, thanks to pioneering port initiatives such as the port of Tanger Med, launched in 2007.”
