In a statement published on his official account, Mr. Boulos emphasized that American companies are encouraged to invest in all regions of the Kingdom, including its Sahara, thereby reaffirming the United States’ clear and unequivocal recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over the territory.
The senior U.S. official also recalled that Washington considers the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as the only serious, credible, and realistic basis for achieving a just and lasting political solution to the regional dispute. In this regard, he reiterated the United States’ commitment to supporting the efforts of the United Nations to accelerate the political process.
This renewed stance illustrates the consistency and firmness of American support for the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, while paving the way for the strengthening of economic and strategic partnerships between Rabat and Washington.
