Speaking at the 8th session of the Morocco–Russia Intergovernmental Joint Commission, held this Friday in Moscow and co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Dmitri Patrushev, the Russian Ambassador in Rabat, Vladimir Baïbakov, highlighted the strategic significance of the Moroccan Sovereign’s action on the African continent.
On behalf of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomat stated that Russia attaches particular importance to the initiatives of King Mohammed VI, which, according to him, represent “real opportunities for cooperation and partnership with Morocco.”
He added that the Royal Initiatives, based on solidarity, South–South cooperation, and sustainable development, actively contribute to strengthening stability, security, and economic progress in Africa.
These statements come in a context marked by the strengthening of the deep strategic partnership between Morocco and Russia, established in 2016 under the High Guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Vladimir Putin.
This Russian recognition confirms Morocco’s central role in Africa as an actor of peace and development, as well as the growing international confidence in the enlightened vision of the Moroccan Sovereign for a more united, prosperous, and stable African continent.
