This solemn tribute, organized within the walls of the Senate itself, will bring together several Moroccan and French personalities around the shared memory of an act of faith and peace that has lastingly marked Morocco’s contemporary history.
A Moroccan delegation led by Mohamed Zidouh, President of the Morocco–France Friendship Group, will be present on this occasion, alongside Ms. Samira Sitail, Morocco’s Ambassador to France, and Mr. Christophe Campion, International Advisor to the President of the Senate.
The opening of the ceremony will feature joint addresses by representatives of the Senate and the Moroccan delegation, as well as the screening of a video tracing the progress of the Green March. This peaceful epic enabled the Kingdom to recover its Sahara and affirm its sovereignty in a spirit of national unity and non violence.
By this unprecedented gesture, the French Senate underscores its commitment to the depth of relations between Rabat and Paris, founded on trust, cooperation, and mutual respect. This event also fits within the framework of renewed political dialogue between the two nations, marked by a common desire to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural bridges.
In choosing to honor the Green March, France celebrates not only a glorious page in Moroccan history but also the universal values it embodies: peace, solidarity, and the legitimacy of a people to determine their territorial integrity.
A rare tribute, imbued with respect and recognition, which serves to recall that the Moroccan French relationship, strong with several centuries of shared history, continues to reinvent itself in fidelity, friendship, and a vision of a common future.
