After the shock of the announcement of this major event, namely the UN Security Council resolution, local media outlets, under the orders of the officials of this pseudo “New Algeria,” allowed exaggerated reactions, even those of fury and rage, from Algerian Party Chiefs and local officials to circulate. Worse still, street interviews showed citizens selected on the spot shouting about a conspiracy, accusing sometimes “the foreign hand,” sometimes the Makhzen, sometimes occult forces (!!!), especially the neo colonial powers, without forgetting Israel, of course.
The hate filled reactions have reached worrying proportions, featuring violent, racist, and anti Semitic terms. Scenes of collective hysteria on television sets now illustrate an Algeria in a state of General Schizophrenia.
In 2025, Algeria, a country of 45 million inhabitants (in reality, fewer than 30 million only!!!), seems completely alienated, already complexed by the “absence of a real Historical or Cultural Heritage.” The conspiracy theories reveal a growing isolation and a mistrust of the outside world and of “the other.” The recognition of the Moroccan nature of the Sahara by the international community has become synonymous, for the Algerian, with a brutal return to a catastrophic daily reality, marked by scarcity, endless queues, and insolvable socio economic problems.
The regime in power, fearing “the end of Social Peace” and the return of economic difficulties, has shaped a fanaticized society, preferring to take refuge in the Hatred of everything Moroccan to mask the country’s real challenges. This crisis unveils a power on the ropes and a people in perfect symbiosis in their conspiratorial and victim mentality.
The disconnect from reality, the propagation of unfounded accusations, and international isolation testify to an Algeria sinking further into its “Middle Ages” every day. Religious radicalization and autocratic power contribute to a growing alienation of society. For many observers, Algeria risks becoming an “open air psychiatric hospital,” dominated by rampant Islamism and socio economic implosion.
The dead and the living, the visible and invisible world, Africa, Asia, America, and Europe, have they all united against the kind Algeria, against the largest country in Africa, “the continent country,” the “self proclaimed regional power,” the Mecca of just causes and the rights of the Palestinian and Sahrawi peoples??? Does every Algerian hide an unrecognized Tebboune within? Does every citizen harbor an emerging Chenegriha? That IS THE QUESTION!
To these legions of self centered Algerians, these people on the margins of the world who take themselves for its center, the rest of the planet reacts with incomprehension first, and then with total distaste and rejection of everything Algerian.
