The agreement was signed by the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, and the Director General of the French insurers’ group, Benoit Leclair, the DGSN said in a statement.
The agreement provides for the establishment of focal points and official communication channels between the DGSN and the French insurers’ group “Argos” to facilitate coordination between the two parties in the search, identification, tracking, and recovery of stolen vehicles, as well as the development of training programs in relevant technical and scientific fields, the statement added.
It also allows the competent services of the DGSN to access the Argos database, which contains technical data provided by automobile manufacturers, and makes available to Moroccan police the IT tools needed to track and locate stolen vehicles.
This initiative is part of the broader program launched in recent years by the DGSN to develop and modernize criminal investigation methods used by judicial police services, the statement noted, highlighting that this modernization includes increased use of modern technologies, support for police infrastructure, provision of advanced equipment and logistics, and the reinforcement of human resources dedicated to combating various forms of crime.
