Speaking on this occasion, the Minister noted that the meeting was being held in a national context marked by the acceleration of structural reforms led under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. These reforms, she explained, aim to strengthen good governance, enhance human capital, and improve public service performance, in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development.

Mrs. Benali added that the national mining sector occupies a prominent place both regionally and internationally, thanks to the Kingdom’s geological richness and diversity, as well as its accumulated expertise in exploration, extraction, processing, and value creation.

She further emphasized that shifting from raw material exports to the development of high value-added mining industries has become a strategic necessity to reinforce industrial sovereignty and contribute to the country’s energy and digital transitions.

In this regard, Mrs. Benali recalled the new strategic vision for the development of the national mining sector, based on modernizing the legal and regulatory framework and strengthening investment attractiveness in exploration and prospecting through a responsible and sustainable approach to mineral resources, in line with the High Royal Guidelines and the provisions of the New Development Model.

The Minister also underlined CADETAF’s key role in supporting and assisting traditional miners as a responsible public institution contributing to the revitalization of the regional economy through promising investment prospects and the strong job-creation potential offered by the mining sector.

At the end of the meeting, the Board approved a set of recommendations aimed particularly at expediting the adoption of CADETAF’s new organizational structure, advancing the digitalization process, and modernizing the Center’s analytical laboratory.

In addition, a multi-party cooperation and partnership agreement was signed for the development of the geology, mining, and energy sectors in the Drâa-Tafilalet region. The agreement seeks to strengthen research and exploration, develop infrastructure and technical services, and align with the Kingdom’s strategic orientations in energy transition and sustainable development.

On the sidelines of her visit to the province, the Minister, accompanied by the Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region and Governor of Errachidia Province, Essaid Zniber, and the President of the Drâa-Tafilalet Regional Council, Hro Abrou, conducted a field visit to several mining projects, including the Boumadine Global Mining project and a traditional mining site in the commune of Al-Jarf, to assess mining development and exploitation activities in the region.
