Speaking at the award ceremony held on the sidelines of a golf competition organized at a prestigious golf course in Tokyo to mark the 50th anniversary of the Glorious Green March, Bouhlal highlighted the national and international significance of this historic event, launched in 1975 by the late His Majesty King Hassan II for the peaceful recovery of Morocco’s southern provinces, according to a statement from the Moroccan Embassy in Japan.
The sporting event, held under the theme of friendship and sharing, brought together ambassadors from Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho, Senegal, Panama, and Micronesia, around values of peace, solidarity, and cooperation.
Following the competition, participants and guests were invited to a dinner showcasing the culinary diversity of Morocco. A traditional tea ceremony was also held, offering attendees a glimpse into Moroccan hospitality and lifestyle.
A large folding screen depicting the map of the Kingdom of Morocco adorned the reception area, symbolizing national unity and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom—values inseparable from the spirit of the Glorious Green March.
Through this initiative, the Embassy of Morocco in Japan sought to highlight the historical and symbolic importance of the Green March and to reaffirm its commitment to strengthening ties of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between Morocco and its international partners, the statement concluded.
