Speaking at the opening of the 58th Annual General Assembly of the AACO, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Mr. Teffaha stated that the main challenges facing the aerospace industry in the short and medium term can be summed up in two key points, the first being the need to expand the production chain base, which is currently limited.
The second challenge, he continued, lies in finding a balance between the continued growth of the air transport industry and the reduction, or even elimination, of its environmental impact.
Policies that impose heavy financial burdens without tangible environmental benefits cannot be considered the right path forward, Mr. Teffaha stressed, calling instead for encouraging the industry to adopt tools that reduce its ecological footprint without placing excessive pressure on its cost structure.
According to him, the future growth of the industry, as well as its role and ability to create jobs, depends on finding solutions to these two challenges.
The opening session of the AACO General Assembly, chaired by the Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Hamid Addou, was attended by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, and the Director General of the National Airports Office (ONDA), Adel El Fakir.
The agenda of this General Assembly, which brings together several senior officials and experts from the Arab and international aviation sectors—including the CEOs of AACO member airlines, partner companies, and representatives of major manufacturers and suppliers—includes a high-level roundtable focused on major trends and key issues shaping the future of air transport.
