Infantino noted that Morocco’s recent U20 World Cup title in Chile is “a remarkable achievement that proves the success of the Moroccan senior team at the last World Cup in Qatar 2022, with its historic semi-final qualification, was no coincidence but rather the result of extraordinary work being done here—both in men’s and women’s football.” His remarks were shared in a statement published on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s (FRMF) YouTube channel.
“First of all, allow me to congratulate Morocco for this magnificent U20 World Cup title won in Chile a few days ago,” said the FIFA President. “It was a well-deserved title, a beautiful final against Argentina, and a world championship that truly reflects the passion and progress taking place in this beautiful country, Morocco.”
Upon his arrival in Rabat to attend the final of the Women’s U17 World Cup, Infantino expressed his pleasure at returning to the Kingdom. “For me, it’s a great pleasure to be back here in Rabat. We feel at home here. You can feel that football breathes and lives everywhere,” he said.
Speaking about the Women’s U17 World Cup, Infantino emphasized that the event “once again demonstrates Morocco’s quality as a host nation.”
“A Women’s World Cup is a major competition, bringing together 24 teams from around the globe,” he stated. “This is the first women’s World Cup ever organized in Africa, here in Morocco, and it marks the first of five consecutive tournaments to be held in the country.”
He concluded by expressing his gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, “who continues to provide the driving force behind this football movement in this wonderful country.
