In addition to security officials and police staff of various ranks and specialties from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the ceremony was attended by retired National Security officers, children and orphans of police personnel, as well as institutional partners, including universities, service companies and public establishments linked to the Foundation through partnership agreements, according to a statement from the DGSN.
Upholding the annual tradition that rewards children and orphans from the National Security family who obtained outstanding grades and top marks in the 2024/2025 baccalaureate exams, the event featured the awarding of scholarships and financial prizes aimed at encouraging them to pursue university studies.
These financial incentives include university scholarships worth 50,000 dirhams, paid in five annual installments of 10,000 dirhams each. This financial support, allocated by the DGSN, aims to encourage the children of its personnel to continue their higher education. Twenty-five students from the National Security family who achieved top academic results and enrolled in higher education institutions benefited from this scholarship.
The second component of financial support consists of exceptional aid ranging from 8,000 to 1,000 dirhams, awarded directly to children and orphans of National Security personnel who distinguished themselves during the previous school year. This assistance was presented to 68 students attending the ceremony, while 102 similar grants will be awarded to other beneficiaries during regional events in the coming days.
In addition to the academic excellence scholarships implemented since 2021, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Personnel launched last year an ambitious social program establishing partnerships with several higher education institutions to facilitate access for outstanding children and orphans of police officers.
This annual ceremony was also an opportunity to honor several police officers who excelled in artistic and sporting competitions organized by the Foundation throughout the year, as part of its mission to promote social support and foster creativity within the National Security community.
The team from the Laâyoune Police Prefecture, which won first place in the annual futsal tournament, received recognition alongside the teams ranking second and third. Police officers who earned top results at the Arab Cross-Country Championship held in Iraq were also awarded financial and material prizes to encourage continued competitive excellence at both national and international levels.
For the first time, retired officers aged over 80 received recognition during the ceremony through certificates and symbolic gifts, reflecting the DGSN’s commitment to honoring its personnel throughout their careers and into retirement. This tribute will soon extend to a larger segment of retired National Security staff, including home visits to beneficiaries unable to attend ceremonies.
Financial rewards were also presented to six police officers who won the visual arts competition. The contest saw the participation of 37 officers who submitted 52 artworks evaluated by experts from the Ministry of Culture.
A selection of artworks created by police personnel will be showcased in public galleries to promote artistic expression within the National Security community.
The visual arts section also featured works by children of police personnel who took part in summer camps organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation. These pieces reflect both youthful creativity and emerging artistic talent.
This year’s edition of the annual excellence ceremony stood out for several new initiatives, including an increased number of scholarship recipients and the tribute to retirees. These efforts fall within a renewed approach aimed at strengthening bonds across generations within the National Security family and integrating them into a comprehensive system of social services and healthcare, in line with the High care of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, toward the National Security and Territorial Surveillance community.
