Nasser Bourita receives Richard Duke Buchan III: A new chapter for the Morocco-United States strategic partnership

This meeting marks an important step in strengthening the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States, a long-standing alliance built on trust, mutual respect and converging views regarding key international issues.

Mr. Buchan, known for his diplomatic engagement and commitment to fostering strong bilateral cooperation, officially begins his mission at a moment where Rabat and Washington continue to deepen coordination in security, economic, cultural and geopolitical fields.

For his part, Mr. Nasser Bourita welcomed the appointment of this experienced diplomat, reaffirming that the Kingdom remains fully committed to further advancing political dialogue and accelerating major joint projects between the two nations.

The presentation of letters of credence, a formal yet deeply symbolic diplomatic step, reinforces the continuity of a historic relationship that dates back to Morocco’s recognition of U.S. independence in 1777, and that today continues to evolve through ambitious and forward-looking partnerships.

With the arrival of Richard Duke Buchan III, a renewed momentum is emerging for Moroccan-American relations which are already strong but now poised to reach a new level of strategic cooperation under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
