In its final communiqué concluding the work of its 46th session, held in the capital of Bahrain, the Council also welcomed Resolution 2797 adopted by the United Nations Security Council on October 31, 2025, which recognizes the autonomy initiative as an important step toward achieving a realistic and feasible solution.
The Council further welcomed the Decision of HM King Mohammed VI to submit this initiative to the UN Security Council and to designate October 31 of each year as a national holiday under the name “Unity Day”.
This position is in line with the constant and firm support of the GCC States for the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, and for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom over its entire territory.
