World Cup 2026: Waiting time for US visa appointments in Morocco reduced to only 2 months

This represents a reduction “of more than 80 percent” compared to the waiting times recorded in November 2024 for Moroccans seeking a US visa, the senior American official said at a press conference held on the eve of the World Cup Draw, scheduled for Friday in the US capital.

Recalling that Morocco is co-host of the 2030 World Cup alongside Portugal and Spain, Mr. Giuliani welcomed this reduction in US visa appointment delays, which will benefit supporters and fans of the Moroccan national team wishing to travel next summer to the United States to attend the World Cup.

He noted that this effort comes in addition to the priority visa interview slot system for holders of tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup (FIFA Pass), recently announced by President Donald Trump.

In this regard, he explained that the US State Department has hired more than 450 additional staff to facilitate and speed up the visa issuance process, particularly for citizens of countries qualified for the 2026 World Cup, described as “the biggest sporting event in the history of the United States”.

As a result, around 300,000 additional visa appointment slots have been added for qualified countries, with projections expected to reach several million slots by early next year.

The United States expects to receive between 5 and 7 million international visitors for this global sporting event, scheduled from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with matches taking place in the United States, Mexico and Canada, concluded the Executive Director of the White House Task Force.
