Doha: Morocco Elected Member of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development

This election took place during the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development, held in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the participation of a Moroccan delegation led by the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Qatar, Mohamed Setri.

Morocco’s unanimous election to the Executive Bureau of the Council represents recognition of the Kingdom’s firm commitment to the development of sustainable housing policies that guarantee access to decent housing and strengthen urban resilience.

The current session, held in the presence of ministers and heads of delegations from Arab countries, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations active in the field of housing and urban development, provided an opportunity to examine several issues related to strengthening cooperation, coordination, and dialogue among Arab states in the housing and urban planning sector, as well as the exchange of expertise.

The meeting also served as an occasion to review Arab scientific and practical experiences in cooperation with regional blocs and foreign countries in the field of housing and urban development, and to take stock of the implementation of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Urban Development and the New Urban Agenda, in addition to a range of topics contributing to the advancement of joint Arab action in this vital sector.
