Composed of third-year officer cadets and led by Commander Mamdouh Al-Mehdi, representing the training department of the Royal Military Academy, the Moroccan delegation received a warm welcome from Colonel Mohamed El Amine Abdel Moulah, Commander of the Mauritanian Military Academy. This visit is part of a dynamic of academic cooperation aimed at exchanging expertise and harmonizing military training methods.
The program featured cross presentations allowing officer cadets from both academies to share their pedagogical and organizational experiences. The Moroccan delegation also participated in daily training activities, covering a wide range of disciplines, from shooting and operational planning to weapons dismantling, military computing, sports, and tactical field exercises.
The historical and heritage dimension was not overlooked. A visit to the Mauritanian Military Academy museum offered the Moroccan officer cadets a deep insight into the institution’s evolution and the history of the Mauritanian national armed forces, through archives, equipment, and materials tracing several decades of military history.
The highlight of this immersion was the delegation’s participation in an observation and exchange session concerning the special forces training courses in the mountainous area of Oued Ilyej. These exercises, carried out under demanding conditions, helped highlight methods of operational preparation in difficult environments and strengthened mutual learning in combat tactics.
Through this initiative, Morocco and Mauritania confirm their common will to consolidate military cooperation based on trust, the sharing of expertise, and the training of a new generation of officers capable of jointly addressing regional security challenges in a spirit of partnership and lasting stability.
