The US Congress celebrates 250 years of strategic alliance between Morocco and the United States

This solemn commemoration highlighted the depth and uniqueness of a partnership based on mutual trust, respect and shared interests, making Morocco the first country in the world to have recognized the independence of the United States in 1777. A founding act that remains a powerful symbol of bilateral relations between the two nations.

The presence of Ambassador Youssef Amrani at this event illustrates the importance attached by both countries to strengthening their strategic cooperation, whether political, security, economic, cultural or human. The exchanges also underscored Morocco’s central role as a reliable partner of the United States in Africa and in the Arab world.

This celebration at the US Congress serves as a reminder that the Moroccan American alliance, forged by history, continues to project itself resolutely toward the future, in the service of regional stability, dialogue between peoples and international peace.
