Early in the afternoon, the two officials visited together the Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Rabat, where Patrice Motsepe presented a donation to the Archbishop of the capital. Later in the day, they continued this initiative with a visit to the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, thereby affirming, through their joint presence, African football’s commitment to the values of tolerance, respect and coexistence between religions.
The presence of Fouzi Lekjaa alongside the CAF President gives this initiative strong institutional significance. It reflects a clear convergence of vision between the CAF and the FRMF in promoting an African football that carries universal values and is firmly rooted in intercultural dialogue and human solidarity.
Beyond its symbolic dimension, this gesture pays tribute to the Moroccan model of coexistence, widely praised at the continental level, and serves as a reminder that sport, under the leadership of committed figures, can be a powerful lever for peace and rapprochement between peoples.
Through this joint visit, Patrice Motsepe and Fouzi Lekjaa delivered a strong message: CAN 2025 is not only a sporting and organisational success, but also a celebration of African values of fraternity, openness and unity, of which Morocco is today one of the most shining ambassadors.
