Morocco’s Head of Govt Holds Talks With US Congress Delegation

Akhannouch reviewed Morocco’s major reforms and pioneering initiatives under HM the King’s enlightened leadership, and hailed the United States’ constant position supporting the autonomy plan within the framework of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Southern provinces.

The two parties welcomed the growing momentum of trade exchanges between both countries, stressing that Morocco is likely to establish itself as a hub for American investments in the region, as part of a win-win partnership.

The meeting provided an opportunity to recall the age-long historical relations uniting the two friendly countries, since the signature in 1787 of Moroccan-American Treaty of Peace & Friendship, the oldest document binding the U.S. to another country.
