Research into Senegalese media archives indicates that the bearer of the letter “A” has already been identified in previous reports devoted to this group of supporters. In an article published on 7 January 2026 by the website Dsports.sn, entitled “Torse nu pour la patrie : quand le S.E.N.E.G.A.L s’écrit en chair et en peinture”, the holder of this letter is presented as Samba Gana Seck, a construction worker living in the Cambérène district of Dakar, and a member of the group since 2004.
In addition, a photograph published by RFI in an article focusing on the history of the “seven letters” during the 2022 AFCON shows the members of the group without facial paint, allowing some observers to make visual comparisons with the images currently circulating. These comparisons, however, fall within the scope of journalistic analysis and do not in any way constitute legal proof.
To date, no official statement has confirmed the death of the Moroccan steward, nor has any judicial action been announced regarding the identity of individuals who may be involved. If an investigation is underway, it remains surrounded by strict confidentiality.
It should be recalled that any person mentioned in this case fully benefits from the presumption of innocence, and that only the findings of an official investigation will be able to establish the facts and any potential responsibilities.
