In this context, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) confirmed, through an official statement released in the evening, that it had been summoned before the Disciplinary Jury of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This hearing took place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and follows the reports submitted by the match officials, as well as the reservations lodged by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation after the final.
Represented by its Secretary General and legally assisted by Me Seydou Diagne, the FSF was able to present its position. Several actors involved in the final were also heard by the disciplinary body, notably head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw, as well as players Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye, who submitted their respective defenses.
At the conclusion of the hearing, the CAF Disciplinary Jury decided to take the matter under deliberation. The final decision is expected to be communicated within forty-eight hours, in accordance with the timetable set by the Jury’s president. In the meantime, this disciplinary procedure keeps the AFCON 2025 final firmly in the spotlight, well beyond the pitch.
