A memorandum of understanding on facilitating access to financing and guarantee mechanisms for handicrafts sector stakeholders was signed between the State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Maison de l’Artisan, and Tamwilcom. The agreement seeks to ease access to financing solutions and appropriate guarantees geared toward productive investment, support the development of high value added exports, and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector at both national and international levels.
A partnership agreement was also signed between the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) and the Maison de l’Artisan, with the objective of promoting the positioning of handicrafts sector stakeholders in foreign markets and developing their export capacities. This will be achieved through improved knowledge of international markets, networking among sector actors, enhanced operational efficiency of handicraft enterprises, and support for access to global markets, contributing to the development of sector exports.
On the same occasion, a partnership agreement focusing on the creation of the digital shopping platform “Morocco Handmade” was signed between the State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Maison de l’Artisan, and Marjane Mall.
As part of efforts to support the digital transformation of the sector, this partnership provides for the establishment of an e-commerce platform dedicated to the marketing of Moroccan handicraft products. The initiative aims to strengthen the economic inclusion of artisans, expand marketing channels, enhance the visibility of handicraft products, and diversify income sources for sector stakeholders.
In addition, a partnership agreement was signed between the State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Maison de l’Artisan, and the Moroccan Export Credit Insurance Company (SMAEX). The agreement seeks to consolidate the export insurance ecosystem for professionals in the sector by securing international commercial operations, promoting a culture of risk management, developing insurance solutions tailored to the specificities of handicrafts, and supporting stakeholders in integrating global distribution chains.
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the International Handicrafts Forum, taking place from 9 to 15 February, is organized by the State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy in coordination with the Maison de l’Artisan under the theme “Handicrafts, Towards a New Dynamic of Investment and High Value Added Exports”. The forum aims to highlight artisanal know-how passed down through generations, celebrate the richness, diversity, and authenticity of Moroccan artisans’ creations, and encourage the establishment of partnerships between artisans and the various components of the handicrafts ecosystem at both national and international levels.
