The 39th AU Summit, held on February 14 and 15, is convened under the theme: “Ensuring Sustainable Availability of Water and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”
The summit highlights the pressing challenges related to access to water, sustainable management of water resources, and their direct impact on food security, public health, and development across the continent.
The high-level meeting was preceded by the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, notably marked by Morocco’s election to the Peace and Security Council of the AU for a two-year term.
