Ryad Mezzour: Under the Enlightened Vision of HM the King, Morocco’s Aerospace Industry Contributes to Structuring, Securing and Supporting Global Aviation

“Driven by Your enlightened Vision, Morocco’s aerospace industry, powered by its talents, no longer merely participates in global aviation. Today, it contributes to structuring it, securing it and supporting its dynamic momentum,” said Mr. Mezzour in an address delivered during the ceremony marking the presentation and launch of the Safran Group’s landing gear production plant project in Nouaceur. The ceremony was presided over on Friday by HM King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Casablanca.

Over the past two decades, Morocco, guided by the enlightened Vision of His Majesty the King, has risen to the rank of a globally recognized aerospace platform, the minister underlined, noting that this unprecedented momentum, instilled by the Sovereign, continuously enables Morocco’s aerospace industry to reach new milestones and horizons.

“A dynamic sustained by industrial policies steered by Your Majesty and built around an ecosystem that combines political and economic stability, modern infrastructure, high-level skills training and bold decision-making,” he added.

Mr. Mezzour observed that this exceptional trajectory “today makes our country not merely a production site, but above all a true industrial and technological player integrated at the heart of the global economy.”

In this Moroccan aerospace epic, he continued, the Safran Group, a partner of the Kingdom for more than a quarter of a century, holds a singular place by supporting the upgrading of Morocco’s aerospace industry and its skills. “It is a historic partnership that is being confirmed and further strengthened through a new project, a new ambition and greater prospects,” he said.

“Safran Landing Systems has chosen the Kingdom for the establishment of one of the largest landing gear production centers in the world,” he announced, specifying that the future next-generation plant, covering 26,000 square meters, will be located at the heart of Midparc in Nouaceur on more than seven hectares of land, with an investment exceeding 3 billion dirhams.

He added that the new industrial site will provide Morocco with one of the most advanced industrial segments: precision machining, special processes, high-technology assembly, testing, certification and advanced maintenance.

“Manufacturing landing gear systems in Morocco means mastering complex technologies and consolidating the Kingdom’s industrial integration into global aerospace value chains,” he stressed, affirming that the Nouaceur plant, which prefigures the aviation of the future—cleaner, more resilient and more efficient—integrates the highest standards in sustainability, digitalization and energy efficiency.

The minister also pointed out that this industrial project offers prospects for showcasing young Moroccan talent, noting that 25,000 globally recognized talents are already energizing the national aerospace production chains and that tomorrow 500 additional young talents will join them.

“From engine assembly to landing gear systems, Morocco has, in just four months, under the enlightened Leadership of Your Majesty, crossed two decisive thresholds: two critical segments mastered, two new milestones set in consolidating the upgrading of Morocco’s industrial platform,” Mr. Mezzour concluded.
