Student Mobilization Around Sport
Held in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Federation for All Sports and the Moroccan Anti Doping Agency, the event brought together participants from several universities across the Rabat Salé Kénitra region. Runners completed a 5.5 kilometer course in a spirit that was both competitive and friendly.
Beyond competition, the primary objective was to promote sports practice within the university environment and to raise awareness among young people about the benefits of regular physical activity, highlighting the strong connection between mental well being and physical fitness.
A Practical Training Experience for Future Sports Journalists
According to the institute’s administration, the event, entirely designed and coordinated by students, served as a real world exercise. It allowed them to experience every stage of organizing a sporting event, from logistical planning to communication.
The long term goal is to establish the race as an annual event and eventually extend it to other regions of the Kingdom in order to further energize university sports participation.
Promoting Sporting Ethics
For the Moroccan Anti Doping Agency, a partner in the initiative, participation reflects its commitment to promoting sport as a vehicle for health, values, and integrity. The institution also emphasized the importance of training future journalists who are aware of their role in defending sporting ethics and delivering reliable information.
This first edition of “Sibaq Al Irfane” already stands as more than just a race. It represents an educational and civic initiative with strong potential to become a lasting fixture in Morocco’s university landscape.
