Ksar El Kebir: Distribution of Food Supplies to Returning Residents Following Improved Weather Conditions

This initiative is part of the efforts deployed by local authorities to implement the integrated plan developed by the province of Larache. The plan aims to facilitate the gradual return of affected citizens starting February 15 by identifying the necessary means of transportation, securing safe routes, and ensuring on site supervision to guarantee the smooth running of operations and the safety of residents.

The operation seeks to create appropriate conditions for citizens to resume their normal lives, especially as the number of open shops and service facilities is expected to increase progressively in the coming days.

The assistance, which will be distributed gradually according to the number of returning residents, includes essential items such as milk, oil, sugar, flour, rice, and tea.

At a dedicated center for assembling and preparing the aid packages, food baskets are carefully packed into specific bags under the supervision of local authorities, with support from officials and volunteers. The baskets are then loaded onto vehicles and large trucks, which head directly to the targeted neighborhoods.

In the Assalam district, for example, a door to door distribution operation was carried out. Two specially equipped vehicles were mobilized to navigate narrow streets and deliver aid as close as possible to the homes of beneficiary families.

The operation continues at a sustained pace thanks to rigorous and coordinated organization aimed at covering all neighborhoods and areas whose residents were authorized to return during the first phase.

In statements to the press, several citizens expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the care shown toward those affected by the exceptional weather conditions that impacted certain provinces of the Kingdom.

They noted that the distribution of assistance on the very first day of their return reflects the proactive approach of the authorities in addressing citizens’ needs. They added that the support comes at a crucial time, particularly as many shops remain closed pending the return of their owners and the normalization of supply chains.

This operation is part of the ongoing mobilization of public authorities and relevant services on the ground, whether during the evacuation phase to safe areas, the provision of temporary shelter, or the organization of residents’ return and the facilitation of their resumption of daily life.
