Over nearly two weeks, the officer cadets underwent an intensive operational programme designed to test their leadership and adaptability skills. Logistically supported by the Royal Armed Forces, the exercise took place in a desert environment known for its extreme conditions, combining heat, isolation and rugged terrain.
At the core of the training were a series of tactical exercises ranging from section to platoon level. Participants were trained in navigation in hostile terrain, autonomous movement, survival techniques and unit management in real-life scenarios. According to the Belgian Embassy in Morocco, the immersion unfolded in a setting both spectacular and demanding, illustrating the strength of the military partnership between the two countries.
According to RTL Info, the mission represents the final practical phase of the prince’s curriculum before obtaining, at the end of the academic year, his degree in social and military sciences. In total, nearly 170 officer cadets and supervisors took part in the session, joined by a detachment from the Regiment of the 1st Chasseurs à Cheval.
Alongside the manoeuvres, the Belgian delegation paid an official visit to the Royal Military Academy in Meknes, where it received what was described as a particularly warm welcome. This symbolic step helped further strengthen institutional ties between the military training structures of the two nations.
