AESVT Morocco Announces the Official Launch of the 2026 Green Week

The event will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jardin Exotique de Bouknadel, an iconic space for biodiversity preservation and environmental education, managed by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment.

The opening day, led by Dr. Brahim Haddane, Director of the Jardin Exotique de Bouknadel, will kick off AESVT Maroc’s national program for 2026. The initiative focuses on three main priorities:

  • Reconnecting with nature: facilitating access to natural spaces and promoting ecological awareness among youth and the wider public.
  • Revitalizing and reimagining cities: encouraging urban greening, nature-based solutions, and improving urban living environments.
  • Strengthening rural territories: supporting local initiatives, ecological resilience, and the sustainable use of natural resources.

The day’s program will include:

  • Guided thematic tours of the garden to explore its rich plant biodiversity.
  • Hands-on workshops on ecological gardening and composting to promote practical environmental actions.
  • Educational and interactive activities for youth, families, and the general public.

The event will conclude with a participatory Green Dialogue, bringing together institutional representatives, local authorities, civil society actors, experts, and citizens. This forum will foster collective reflection on equitable access to nature, the role of green spaces in community well-being, and strategies for ecological transition across Morocco.

Through this initiative, AESVT Maroc reaffirms its commitment to:

  • Strengthening environmental awareness.
  • Encouraging citizen engagement.
  • Promoting biodiversity protection.
  • Making nature an accessible right for all.

Green Week thus represents a major moment of national mobilization toward a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future.
