The defendants were prosecuted for acts considered hooliganism, including assaults against law enforcement officers, damage to sports facilities, pitch invasion, and the throwing of projectiles. All of them denied the charges during the hearing, stating that they had not taken part in the disturbances that marked the match, which their national team won 1-0 after extra time.
The defense announced its intention to appeal the convictions. In its submissions, the public prosecutor emphasized the seriousness of the alleged acts and the extent of the material damage caused at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, estimated at nearly 4.87 million dirhams. The proceedings also involved a French national of Algerian origin who was implicated in the incidents.
