Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, received on Monday, April 6, his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two brotherly countries, as well as preparations for the first session of the Moroccan-Egyptian coordination and follow-up commission.
During the meeting, both ministers highlighted the depth of the fraternal ties between Egypt and Morocco, welcoming the significant progress achieved across various sectors, particularly political, economic, and trade fields. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral partnership in all areas, in the interest of both nations.
Discussions also focused on preparations for the upcoming first session of the coordination and follow-up commission at the level of the heads of government of both countries, an important step aimed at giving new momentum to bilateral cooperation and meeting shared ambitions.
In addition, the two officials exchanged views on several regional issues of common interest, notably recent military escalations and the delicate context facing the region. The Egyptian minister outlined his country’s efforts, in coordination with regional and international partners, to ease tensions, prevent the spread of conflicts, and preserve regional stability.
Finally, talks addressed developments related to the Palestinian issue, as well as the situations in Sudan and Libya. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination to support regional security and stability, while strengthening joint Arab and African action in the face of current challenges.
