His Majesty King Mohammed VI receives the new Ambassador of Iraq, Hayder Shiya Albarrak, at the Royal Palace

Relations between Morocco and Iraq continue to strengthen in a climate of fraternity, mutual respect, and close diplomatic cooperation. This dynamic was illustrated on Thursday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, where His Majesty King Mohammed VI received Hayder Shiya Albarrak, who came to present his credentials as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Morocco.

This official audience, held in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita as well as the Chamberlain Sidi Mohammed El Alaoui, reflects the shared desire of both countries to further strengthen their bilateral relations and open new prospects for cooperation.

Morocco and Iraq maintain deep historical ties based on shared Arab values, solidarity, and ongoing dialogue. Over the years, Rabat and Baghdad have increased diplomatic exchanges and initiatives aimed at reinforcing political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

Under the leadership of Mohammed VI, the Kingdom continues to pursue a balanced and open diplomacy toward Arab countries, placing cooperation, regional stability, and shared development at the heart of its strategic priorities.

The appointment of the new Iraqi ambassador comes in a context marked by a shared desire to energize relations between the two nations and to further promote opportunities for exchange and investment between Rabat and Baghdad.

This accreditation ceremony thus reflects the strength of Morocco–Iraq relations and confirms the commitment of both countries to consolidating a partnership based on trust, friendship, and common interests.
