The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali reaffirmed on Friday their commitment to giving new momentum to the strategic partnership between the two countries.
On the occasion of the 4th High Joint Commission for Morocco-Mali Cooperation, held in Bamako and co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali Abdoulaye Diop, the two parties reaffirmed shared commitment to injecting new momentum into the strategic partnership between Mali and Morocco, with the aim of further bolstering economic, trade, and cooperation ties.
During this meeting, where both parties conducted an in-depth review of the state of their bilateral cooperation across various sectors, the two ministers commended the deep bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the two countries. They reaffirmed shared commitment to making Morocco-Mali relations a model of intra-African cooperation, based on values of solidarity, respect, and sharing, in accordance with the enlightened vision and shared commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President of the Transition, Head of State of the Republic of Mali, Army General Assimi Goita.
Both sides also lauded the steady pace of mutually beneficial and fruitful bilateral cooperation, as well as the prospects for diversifying and strengthening this partnership in promising and priority sectors.
In this regard, the two ministers reformulated their countries’ firm commitment to sharing their respective experiences and expertise, welcoming the technical missions recently conducted by both sides with a view to boosting bilateral cooperation and partnership projects, namely in fields of agriculture, energy, health, education, and training.
In the economic and trade sphere, the two parties further spoke of strengthening trade between Malian and Moroccan economic operators and welcomed the Business Forum held on the sidelines of this session, which helped identify new areas of common interest and agree on concrete actions to boost business ties between the two countries.
The two parties also welcomed reinforcing the legal framework governing their bilateral cooperation through inking several cooperation agreements and reaffirmed their commitment to monitoring their implementation, towards further enshrining the special ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali.
