Morocco and Senegal to Hold the 15th Session of the High Joint Partnership Commission in Rabat on January 26–27

Morocco and Senegal will hold, on January 26 and 27, 2026 in Rabat, the 15th Session of the Moroccan–Senegalese High Joint Partnership Commission, a high-level meeting aimed at consolidating the historic and strategic bilateral relations between the two countries.

The holding of this session was confirmed following a telephone conversation on January 21, 2026, between the Head of the Moroccan Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and his Senegalese counterpart, Ousmane Sonko. This exchange allowed both officials to reaffirm the strength of the partnership linking Rabat and Dakar, as well as their shared commitment to injecting new momentum into it.

According to an official statement, the two Heads of Government expressed their common will to strengthen and deepen multifaceted cooperation between Morocco and Senegal, in line with the High Orientations of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. This cooperation covers several key areas, notably the economy, investment, training, culture, as well as human and spiritual exchanges.

Moroccan–Senegalese relations are based on solid and lasting foundations, nurtured by a long tradition of trust, mutual respect and solidarity. They are regularly praised by the authorities of both countries as a model of South–South cooperation, founded on a win-win partnership and a shared vision of development.

The 15th session of the High Joint Commission is therefore expected to provide an opportunity to assess the progress of existing agreements, explore new prospects for collaboration, and outline the contours of strengthened cooperation, in line with the shared ambitions of Morocco and Senegal in the service of stability and development on the African continent.
