Beijing - The seventh session of the trade, economic and technical cooperation joint committee between the Kingdom of Morocco and the People’s Republic of China was held on Tuesday in Beijing.

The session’s proceedings, which form part of the follow-up of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2016 between Morocco and China, were co-chaired by Ryad Mezzour, minister of Industry and Trade, and Zhang Li, Chinese assistant minister of Commerce.
They were attended by a large Moroccan delegation, including representatives from several ministerial departments, as well as His Majesty the King’s ambassador to China, Abdelkader El Ansari.
This high-level session testifies to the mutual will of the two countries to sustain and deepen the strategic dialogue engaged by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and President Xi Jinping, thus bolstering the ties between the two countries with millenary traditions.
On this occasion, the Chinese side welcomed Morocco’s progress in terms of economic development, particularly commending the vision of HM the King, describing it as “clearsighted, solidary and committed.”
In this respect, Mezzour presented the Kingdom’s major structuring projects, driven by the Sovereign’s vision and testifying to the momentum of modernization and development in Morocco.
He also mentioned the 2030 World Cup, which the Kingdom will co-host alongside Spain and Portugal, highlighting the major investment opportunities offered by this major event.
The African dimension of the Sino-Moroccan partnership featured prominently in the discussions, with in-depth talks on Morocco’s role as a hub in Africa and a strategic platform for the development of China-Africa relations within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Discussions also focused on ways to give new impetus to the bilateral partnership by capitalizing on the considerable potential of both economies.
