Nasser Bourita Expected in Beijing: A High-Level Visit to Strengthen the Strategic Alliance Between Morocco and China

At the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, will pay an official visit to the People’s Republic of China on September 19 and 20, 2025.

According to the official Xinhua News Agency, this visit reflects the upward momentum of Sino-Moroccan relations and confirms the shared determination of both countries to deepen a comprehensive strategic partnership built on mutual trust and complementary interests.

The agenda of the visit includes high-level discussions on bilateral relations, economic and technological cooperation, as well as regional and international issues. Rabat and Beijing, guided by a common vision, are working to strengthen exchanges in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, the textile industry, and digital innovation.

Beyond the bilateral dimension, this visit carries significant geopolitical weight. Morocco, leveraging its role as a hub between Africa, Europe, and the Arab world, stands as a strategic partner for China within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. For its part, Beijing remains a central player in global economic development, with cooperation with the Kingdom opening new perspectives for the African continent.

This visit thus reaffirms Morocco’s central role, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as a key actor in South-South dialogue and international cooperation.
