Government Council Adopts Draft Decree on the Reorganization of the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC)

The Government Council adopted, on Thursday, draft decree 2.25.761 amending and supplementing decree 2.11.89 of September 14, 2011 relating to the reorganization of the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC).

This draft decree, presented by the Secretary of State in charge of Employment on behalf of the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, aims to amend and supplement decree 2.11.89 in order to align it with the provisions of decree 2.23.668 of August 2, 2023, which amends and supplements decree 2.04.89 of June 7, 2004 defining the purpose of university institutions, the structure of higher education programs and the corresponding national diplomas.

According to a statement from the Ministry Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, the draft decree includes provisions concerning the revision of the names and format of diplomas issued by the institute (Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Doctorate), as well as the validation of completed modules based on the academic credits assigned to them.

Each national diploma will be accompanied by an appendix containing detailed information on the student’s academic record, including educational, scientific, artistic and sports activities, in addition to other extracurricular elements. The same source adds that the draft decree also provides for the revision of the titles and descriptors of the “National Academic Standards Guide” related to the aforementioned fields of study.
