Morocco and Finland Praise Strong Bilateral Relations During Rabat Meeting
Rabat – On Sunday, Morocco and Finland highlighted the strength and dynamism of their bilateral relations, describing them as mutually beneficial and full of potential.

This statement followed a meeting between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and Finland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen. In a joint communiqué issued at the conclusion of the talks, both ministers welcomed the positive momentum established since Bourita’s visit to Finland in August 2024 and emphasized promising prospects for future cooperation.
The communiqué reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to deepening economic and trade relations, with a focus on strategic sectors such as digitalization, secure and resilient 5G networks, and trusted information and communication technology infrastructure. Cooperation in water technologies and renewable energy was also identified as a high-potential area for collaboration.
The discussions also covered pressing international issues, including developments in the Middle East, Europe, the Sahel, and Sudan. Both ministers emphasized the importance of an international order based on rules and principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter, notably the obligation of states to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any country.
Minister Valtonen’s official visit to Morocco, at the invitation of Minister Bourita, underscores a shared determination to strengthen ties, elevating them into a strategic partnership grounded in trust, regular political dialogue, and enhanced sectoral cooperation.
