Dakhla: A Regional Forum to Assess the 2025–2027 Foreign Trade Program

A regional communication meeting dedicated to the 2025–2027 foreign trade development program was held on Friday in Dakhla under the theme “Regions: A Lever for Exports.”

Organized by the Secretariat of State in charge of Foreign Trade, this forum provided an opportunity to assess and analyze the ways to strengthen interaction between companies in the region and the government support program for foreign trade for 2025–2027, and to highlight the objectives of this ambitious roadmap.

The meeting, which was attended by the Governor of the province of Aousserd, Mohammed Rochdy, and saw strong participation from economic operators in the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region and various stakeholders in the field, made it possible to explain the opportunities and advantages offered by this program to encourage companies to access international markets.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary of State in charge of Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira, stressed that the forum opened direct dialogue with entrepreneurs, investors and the various stakeholders in the region’s import export sector in order to listen to their concerns and proposals.

Mr. Hejira also emphasized the need to strengthen communication and identify opportunities for cooperation with all categories of exporters in order to reach export figures that reflect the region’s potential, both in terms of infrastructure and export capacity.

He also highlighted the importance of the Dakhla Oued Ed Dahab region, which has a strategic position that can facilitate exports to Africa, in addition to significant infrastructure, notably with the progress of the Dakhla Atlantic Port project.

The 2025–2027 foreign trade program is mainly focused on strengthening trade exchanges, particularly with African countries, in line with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, he specified.

In addition to presentations that provided detailed explanations of the various procedures and measures of the program, the meeting addressed the different challenges related to exports, financing and customs procedures, as well as ways to facilitate access to foreign markets and improve the support framework for local companies operating in different sectors.

The 2025–2027 foreign trade roadmap, the result of a consultation process across the Kingdom’s 12 regions, is built around four strategic pillars: targeted and personalized support for exporting companies, strengthening public export insurance to secure their operations and open up new markets, active, dynamic and innovative promotion of Moroccan exports worldwide, and the implementation of six essential cross cutting reforms to consolidate the overall performance of the export ecosystem.
