Abdellatif Hammouchi meets Polish Minister in charge of coordinating security services

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, received on Thursday in Rabat the Polish Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of coordinating security and special services, Tomasz Siemoniak.

This meeting took place as part of a working visit carried out by the Polish government official to Morocco, leading a high-level official delegation, accompanied by the Ambassador of Poland accredited in Rabat. It aims to strengthen and expand areas of security cooperation between the two countries.

According to a joint statement issued by the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, discussions focused on several issues of common interest, notably strengthening coordination and information exchange in the areas of irregular migration, border security, as well as enhancing operational cooperation and mutual technical assistance in combating organized crime and terrorism, including in the fields of forensic and technical policing.

The two sides also examined challenges related to the terrorist threat at both global and African levels, sharing a common vision regarding security risks in sensitive regions such as the Sahel, the Sahara and the Horn of Africa, as well as other hotspots where terrorist organizations operate.

Polish security services also expressed their interest in strengthening bilateral partnership with Moroccan security institutions, considering Morocco a reliable and key partner in the fight against terrorism and transnational crime.

In this context, both officials agreed to organize an upcoming visit to Morocco by the head of Poland’s internal security services, with the aim of establishing a structured institutional framework to guide this cooperation.
