The Moroccan Association of Boston Celebrates Aid Al Wahda, Honoring Morocco’s Sovereignty Over the Sahara

The Moroccan Association of Boston is organizing a special cultural evening to celebrate Aid Al Wahda, also known as Unity Day, honoring Morocco’s territorial integrity and national cohesion.

The event, titled Moroccan Sahara: Celebrating Aid Al Wahda Unity Day, will take place on November 15, 2025, at The Charles Hotel in Harvard Square. It is a private, invitation-only gathering, sponsored by Waga International Inc.

Celebrated artist Walid Errahmani will headline the evening, performing for members of the Moroccan community and guests in what promises to be a moment of unity, pride, and cultural celebration.

The event will also feature two guest speakers: Mr. Khalil Mohammed, Vice Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco, and Carol Hunsberger Kopelman, Honorary Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco.

According to the organizers, the event aims to bring together Moroccans living in the United States to celebrate their shared heritage and reaffirm their attachment to the Moroccan Sahara. The celebration also highlights the importance of preserving national identity among Moroccans abroad.

A note featured on the event materials recalls that “The United States recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara,” symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two nations.

The gathering in Boston reflects the growing commitment of the Moroccan diaspora to promote national unity and strengthen ties between Morocco and its global community.
