Driss Chahtane Confirmed as President of the National Association of Media and Publishers (ANME): A New Mandate Marked by Continuity and Reform
The National Association of Media and Publishers (ANME), meeting in a General Assembly in Casablanca, has renewed Driss Chahtane as president of its executive board. This re-election, which comes at a decisive moment for the Moroccan press, reflects the members’ desire to continue on the path of stability and reform.

The national media sector is currently facing major challenges: the rapid transformation of business models, the digital shift, and the pressing need to ensure sustainable funding and a modernized legal framework. In this context, ANME intends to step up its efforts to secure more suitable public support, while working toward the long-term structuring of press companies in order to strengthen their competitiveness.
Discussions at the assembly also highlighted the importance of strengthening solidarity between publishers and journalists, in a spirit of defending editorial independence and ensuring the quality of information.
The reappointment of Driss Chahtane, a prominent figure in the Moroccan media landscape, embodies the collective will to consolidate past achievements while opening new avenues for reform. In the months ahead, the association plans to increase consultations with public authorities and institutional partners, with the goal of building an environment conducive to the development of a strong, independent press that serves democratic debate.
