Kenyan Parliamentary Delegation Praises Morocco’s Development Momentum

A Kenyan parliamentary delegation visiting Morocco has highly commended the Kingdom’s development momentum under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

During a meeting on Monday in Rabat with officials from the Committee on Interior, Local Authorities and Infrastructure, and the Committee on Finance, Planning and Economic Development at the House of Councillors, the Kenyan delegation expressed its admiration for the significant progress Morocco has achieved across various sectors.

In this context, Godfrey Osotsi, Chair of the Senate’s Special Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds, praised in particular the Kingdom’s large-scale, high-quality infrastructure. He also voiced Kenya’s interest in drawing inspiration from Morocco’s experience in decentralization and investment.

“Morocco, a country where peace and security prevail, impresses with its remarkable growth at all levels,” he said, adding that the meeting provided an opportunity to learn from Morocco’s pioneering experience in several areas of common interest.

He further underlined the Senate’s determination to deepen cooperation with the House of Councillors in order to advance shared African causes, stressing the importance of establishing a friendship group between the two legislative institutions.

On the issue of Morocco’s territorial integrity, Mr. Osotsi reaffirmed Kenya’s position, which views the Moroccan Autonomy Plan as the only viable and sustainable approach to resolving the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

For his part, Moulay Abderrahmane Blila, Chair of the Committee on Interior, Local Authorities and Basic Infrastructure at the House of Councillors, noted that the Kenyan delegation’s visit aims to further strengthen the already distinguished bilateral ties.

He recalled that this visit comes in a context marked by a new dynamic in Morocco-Kenya relations, particularly following the visit made to the Kingdom in May 2025 by the Kenyan Prime Minister. He also reiterated the House of Councillors’ commitment to fostering closer cooperation with its Kenyan counterpart in service of the two countries’ shared interests.

The discussions also highlighted Morocco’s numerous initiatives, launched under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, to support Africa’s development. Morocco’s expertise in managing public funds and promoting private investment was also showcased.

The Kenyan parliamentary delegation’s visit to Morocco, taking place from September 1 to 7, forms part of efforts to enhance Morocco-Kenya relations. During its stay, the delegation will travel to the city of Dakhla for meetings with local officials.
