World Cup 2030: Franco-Moroccan Task Force Steps Up Preparations for a Successful Tournament

Meeting at the Mohammed VI Football Complex on April 2, the Task Force bringing together Morocco and France marked a new decisive step in the preparation for the 2030 World Cup. Far beyond the organization of a sporting event, this initiative is part of a broader vision aimed at generating a lasting impact on economic, social, and human levels.
As the global event approaches, co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, Rabat and Paris are strengthening their coordination around shared objectives. This high-level meeting brought together several key figures, including Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Nicolas Forissier, French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, and Philippe Diallo. Alongside them, other institutional and economic stakeholders took part in the discussions, reflecting the scale of this mobilization.
From the outset, Fouzi Lekjaa emphasized that this World Cup is part of a strategic dynamic driven by the vision of Mohammed VI, which positions sport as a key lever for development. According to him, the 2030 horizon goes far beyond the sporting deadline and represents a major stage in a broader transformation process of the Kingdom, supported in particular by modern infrastructure such as the Mohammed VI Complex.
For his part, Nicolas Forissier highlighted the “win-win” dimension of this cooperation, praising Morocco’s ambition and the quality of its organization. He underlined France’s willingness to fully engage alongside Morocco, notably through the involvement of French companies exploring the many opportunities offered by this large-scale project.
The expected impact of the 2030 World Cup goes beyond sports infrastructure. It is set to act as a real economic catalyst, stimulating key sectors such as transport, energy, tourism, and digital industries. Morocco is thus positioning itself as a strategic crossroads between Europe and Africa, strengthening its international attractiveness.
Furthermore, the human dimension remains central to this cooperation. Philippe Diallo stressed the importance of placing youth at the heart of this project, promoting the values of sport such as inclusion, solidarity, and education. In this context, the two federations are considering strengthening their partnership through training programs, exchanges of expertise, and the organization of joint events.
Driven by a clear vision and strong ambition, Morocco is confirming its status as a key regional hub. Through this strengthened cooperation with France, the Kingdom aims to make the 2030 World Cup a model of success and a lasting legacy, while consolidating an exemplary bilateral relationship on the international stage.
