AFCON 2025: Morocco Requires Electronic Visa for Certain African Countries, Including Algeria and Tunisia

As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations approaches, Morocco is tightening its reception and security measures. From September 25, 2025, until January 25, 2026, entry into the Kingdom will be subject to a new procedure for certain travelers: the Morocco Electronic Travel Authorization (AEVM).

In a statement issued on Saturday, September 20, Royal Air Maroc – official carrier and global partner of AFCON 2025 – announced that this requirement will apply to nationals of several African countries, including Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Niger, and Togo.

Supporters wishing to attend the matches will need to submit their application through the “YALLA” app, developed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). For other travel purposes (tourism, business, or private visits), the procedure must be completed on the official portal acces-maroc.ma. The AEVM will be checked both at boarding and upon arrival in Morocco.

This measure aims to streamline entry formalities while ensuring the successful organization of a major continental event. AFCON 2025 will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, with 24 teams competing across nine stadiums in six major cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir.
