Interior Ministry Spokesperson: “Some protests in certain regions are no longer peaceful, but rather criminal acts carried out by a minority of agitators and troublemakers”

The spokesperson of the Ministry of the Interior, Rachid El Khalfi, stated that some protests in certain regions are no longer peaceful, “but that we are now facing clear criminal acts, carried out by a minority of agitators and troublemakers.”

Mr. El Khalfi explained, in a statement to the press, that “unprecedented criminal acts have been recorded, including attacks and intrusions into administrative institutions and security posts, in an attempt to seize service weapons, equipment, and ammunition.”

He added that 70% of the troublemakers are minors, which, according to him, raises the question of parental responsibility regarding their children.

The official also made an appeal to parents, stressing that “the duty of the State to maintain public order must be reinforced by the commitment of fathers and mothers to monitor their children’s behavior and ensure that they do not engage in criminal acts punishable by law.”
